The train journey from Warsaw to Zakopane was fine. I travelled on the EIC 273 to Opoczno first and then had to change trains once there. The train offers an on-board restaurant, toilets, heating and clean toilets, everything your heart desires. The total journey time was 5 hours 10 minutes, which is unfortunately a bit long. The price was still very reasonable for such a long journey and the good service. Can definitely recommend it.
