Utrecht

Utrecht may be less well known than Amsterdam or Rotterdam, but it is one of the Netherlands' finest tourist destinations. The city is built around a huge network of canals, which are lined with bars and restaurants. Visitors can sip local beers and dine on delicious hearty Dutch food on canal-side terraces. There is also plenty to see, with historical buildings around every corner. Tourists can climb to the top of the Dom (the city cathedral) and soak up the gorgeous views, or they can tour the fascinating Centraal Museum, with a fantastic art collection and regular shows by world-famous artists. But above all else, Utrecht is a city to relax in and savor. In Utrecht you can stroll along the canals, stretch out in the city parks or pick out some flowers that catch your eye at the Bloemenmarkt.
