I travelled from Kiel to Rostock by regional train, which unfortunately was probably not quite the right choice for a journey of over 2 hours. You can't complain about the price and the punctuality was guaranteed and I was able to enjoy a great view over northern Germany during my journey, but you did notice that you weren't sitting in an ICE train. Unfortunately, there were far too few seats for all the passengers, which is why many passengers had to stand and the understaffed personnel were completely overwhelmed.
