If you only want to cover this distance, I don't think the ICE is worth it, as it is only 15 minutes faster than the local train at more than twice the price. Everything was clean and on time, the conductor was very friendly, but it was also crowded and especially from Erfurt quite noisy in the train. The wifi and the sockets worked and there was also enough information about possible connecting trains.
