I was able to travel from Dresden to Hamburg comfortably and without changing trains on the Eurocity. It wasn't very busy, so I didn't have to reserve a seat. The interior was clean and the toilets looked hygienic. The staff were friendly and the on-board bistro was open. However, the ticket price was very expensive. But the journey time was short. The train was on time all the way to Hamburg.

We travelled to Hamburg to see the Lion King musical. The journey was very relaxed. Our compartment was quiet, the seats were comfortable and there was enough space for our luggage. The only thing that caused a bit of a commotion was a school class. The toilets were up to train standard. All in all, a quiet and pleasant journey - definitely better than travelling by car
