Vienna VIE to Stockholm STO flight with Austrian Airlines

The journey from Vienna to Stockholm takes around 2 hours and was extremely straightforward, with no waiting times at the airport. From the airport, you can then take the Arlanda Express to Stockholm city centre for the equivalent of around €30 per person. The old town Gamla Stan with its colourful houses is a dream. All in all, Stockholm is definitely worth a visit.

My flight with Fly Emirates from Vienna to Stockholm was a thoroughly positive experience. The booking was done quickly and the seat reservation went smoothly. The seats were comfortable and there was wifi and an excellent entertainment system, which shortened the flight time of around 2.5 hours. The hot meals were delicious and served quickly. However, the Fly Emirates cabin crew were unfriendly. The cleanliness on board was marvellous and the toilets were always in good condition. The flight was on time, with no need to change planes. Overall, the price-performance ratio was excellent.

The flight itself was pretty quick with a direct connection - about 2 hours and 15 minutes. That's really not a long time, which makes the flight pleasant, especially if you want to spend as little time as possible on the plane. The seats in economy class are okay for a short-haul flight - not particularly comfortable, but not too uncomfortable either. For me as a rather short person, the legroom was sufficient, but someone taller might feel a bit cramped. There are no special amenities like extra cushions or larger seats, but that's not unusual on such a short flight. The crew were nice - they did their job, but there were no particular highlights in terms of service. Drinks and small snacks were distributed relatively quickly. There was a selection of water, soft drinks and a small snack (biscuits or nuts). As the flight was only a little longer than two hours, this was perfectly adequate. If you expect something warm or a larger meal, you will have to cater for yourself during the flight. As expected, the arrival at Stockholm Arlanda was very smooth.
