Hopping across the Irish Sea has never been simpler. Every day, flights leave numerous London airports for Belfast, putting the whole of Northern Ireland an hour or so away. And with budget airlines offering cut price fares, it can be an inexpensive trip as well.
Airlines flying directly into Belfast from London include British Airways, Aer Lingus, Flybe and Ryanair, as well as easyJet. easyJet runs daily services from London Stansted, Gatwick, and Luton to Belfast International Airport.
The flight from London to Belfast should take between an hour and 10 minutes to one hour and 35 minutes, so there's quite a bit of variation. EasyJet flights tend to take around one hour and 30 minutes.
The London to Belfast route is a busy one, with between 12-28 flights leaving every day, so finding a suitable departure slot shouldn't pose a problem. Many of the available flights are operated by easyJet, who run from 5-16 services every day.
Departure airports: Flights from London to Belfast leave from Heathrow (LHR), Luton (LTN), Stansted (STN), Gatwick (LGW) and London City (LCY). London City is the closest to central London, being around 20 minutes from Bank via the DLR. Getting to the other airports is simple though, with mainline rail links to London which take 30-50 minutes. National Express also run a bus service from London Victoria Station to all major airports. All of them have medium and long stay parking facilities, and all offer a wide range of shops and dining options. Laptop users can also enjoy one to four hours of free WiFi, and charging stations are present in all departure lounges.
Arrival airports: Flights to Belfast could arrive at either George Best Belfast City (BHD) or Belfast International Airport (BFS). Those arriving at Belfast International can catch the Airport Express 300 bus to the city center, which takes half an hour. Trains run from Sydenham station, which is next door to George Best Belfast City Airport, and shuttle buses run from the terminal to the station. In addition, from two to four hours of free WiFi access is available for all passengers.
