There is only one way to get to Ischia from Procida: via car ferry. There is a direct ferry leaving for Ischia every four hours, and ferries operate every day. The distance between the two cities is 12km. Caremar, Medmar, Snav and Alilauro are the ferry operators that cover this route. The first ferry leaves Procida at 7:30 a.m. and the last departs at around 11:00 p.m. Note that high-speed ferries on the route are often suspended due to rough seas, and slow ferry routes may be suspended during winter or if there are extremely rough seas.
The Procida–Ischia route is currently run by four ferry companies: Alilauro, Caremar, Snav and Medmar. Medmar operates 14 times every week with a 23-minute crossing, while Alilauro operates three times weekly with a 20-minute crossing. Caremar operates a car ferry every four hours and it takes about 23 minutes to make the sailing. There are about 14 daily sailings by Caremar, and each takes 25 to 35 minutes.
