I travelled to Sylt by train about two months ago. So the last stop from Niebüll to Sylt was by car train. First of all, I have to mention the smooth and fast crossing. The staff were very friendly and helpful to me. There was also good wifi on board. In my opinion, hygiene and waste disposal could still be improved. But overall I am satisfied with the price-performance ratio.

Sylt Shuttle Plus

About
Sylt Shuttle Plus was a unique passenger train service operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB) that connected Niebüll and Westerland on the island of Sylt, Germany. Unlike the primary Sylt Shuttle, which transports vehicles, the "Plus" service was designed for passengers without cars. It involved coupling a Class 628 diesel multiple unit to the rear of the car shuttle train. Introduced in 2015, the Sylt Shuttle Plus gained notoriety for its often-empty carriages and longer travel times compared to regional trains, leading to its nickname "ghost train." The service was discontinued in December 2024.
