Advantages
IconDirect connection without change
IconLow price
IconWifi and sockets available
Disadvantages
IconNo catering
IconRelatively full trains
I took a regional express from Lübeck to Hamburg at the beginning of June. It is a direct connection without changing trains. The 45-minute journey also costs relatively little. Because of the wifi and power sockets in some of the newer trains, the journey flies by. Overall, I am completely satisfied with the trip and can recommend it to everyone.
Advantages
IconCalm atmosphere
IconGood equipment
IconFriendly staff
Disadvantages
IconDisplays inside did not work
IconSeats dirty
When the train arrived, it had been quite full. However, most people got off at the next stops, so there was more space. On the train, I noticed that inside the displays didn't work at all and the seats could be a bit cleaner. The train had had full facilities, meaning wifi and power sockets were fully functional. What I also liked was the punctuality. The staff were friendly and gave friendly greetings at the ticket check. In itself, it was a pleasant journey and a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
Advantages
IconPleasant volume
Disadvantages
IconNothing negative
I couldn't reserve my seat, but the train arrived on time and luckily there was an empty seat when I got on. I charged my mobile phone as usual and connected to the wifi and, if you wanted to go to the toilet, you would see that everything was clean and hygienic. The service was very friendly and offered me something to drink. You don't have to change trains and when I wanted to sleep, the volume was very pleasant. The price-performance ratio was very good.
Advantages
IconBeautiful trains
IconNo change
IconPower sockets/USB connection available depending on train
Disadvantages
IconRare wifi connection for the route
IconSometimes too busy, no seats
IconOften a few minutes late
The connection from Lübeck to Hamburg takes about 45 minutes, and most of the time there are nice clean trains with loading facilities. You don't have to change trains, but you are often a few minutes late in Hamburg. Wifi is usually not available, only very rarely so far. The conductors have all been very friendly so far. The price for the route is OK, but it's better to buy economy tickets such as the Schleswig Holstein Ticket.
Advantages
IconComfortable seats
Disadvantages
IconSometimes comes too late
When I got on, I immediately saw that there were sockets and bins by the seats. The service was very friendly and offered to disinfect my hands, which says it was very hygienic. Toilet visits were also very relaxed, all very clean. The seats were comfortable, the food was very good and the volume was very pleasant. The value for money was very good.
Advantages
IconFriendly staff
IconCleanliness and equipment
IconNoise level and capacity utilisation
Disadvantages
IconMinor delay
I found this journey very relaxing as the train was not full and it was therefore relatively quiet. There were plenty of toilets, power sockets, a snack machine and stable internet on the train. The staff who checked the tickets were very friendly. The seats were clean and the toilets were hygienic. I didn't have to change trains here, but the train was slightly delayed by about 5 minutes. Apart from that, everything else was acceptable, so I can recommend this journey!
Advantages
IconFast connection from Lübeck to Hamburg
IconYou can use this connection every 20 minutes during the week.
IconDouble-decker trains offer enough space for commuters and other travellers
IconThe staff are very friendly.
Disadvantages
IconFrequent delays mean you often miss your connection in Hamburg.
IconRoute often completely closed for various reasons
IconThe trains are often very dirty.
IconUnfortunately, there is no socket for charging your mobile phone.
As I have been commuting between Lübeck and Mönchengladbach for some time now, I often use this connection. So I can say that the train is often late or doesn't arrive at all. This means you miss the connection, which is of course very annoying. When it does arrive, there is plenty of space as the train has 2 floors. Unfortunately, you won't find any power sockets here. The cleanliness also leaves something to be desired. The staff are friendly and helpful. The announcements made by the train staff are often difficult to understand. I have not yet found a bistro.
Advantages
IconReliable
Disadvantages
IconNot so clean
The punctuality of this train connection was remarkable, the train always arrived in Lübeck as well as in Hamburg at the scheduled time. The train was generally well maintained and clean, the seats and floors were cleaned regularly. The availability of power outlets was sufficient, most seats were equipped with working sockets. The toilets on the train were in an acceptable condition, but regular cleaning would have been desirable, there were occasional shortages of toilet paper and soap. Overall, the train service provides a pleasant travelling experience, while some improvements could be made in terms of cleanliness and availability of toilet resources.
Advantages
IconPunctual
Disadvantages
IconToilet stank
I travelled with a friend and we were both very happy with the journey. The conductor was very nice to us and the check went without a hitch. We arrived at our destination station in Hamburg on time. Power sockets and wifi were available. The train was well cleaned. Unfortunately, the toilet stank.
Advantages
IconEasy ticket booking
IconComfortable seats
Disadvantages
IconInformation announcements difficult to understand
The wifi and power sockets worked well. Ticket booking was easy and it was not necessary to reserve a seat, as there were plenty of seats available. The comfort of the seats contributed to a pleasant journey. In addition, the train attendants were friendly and ensured that everything ran smoothly. Unfortunately, the information announcements were difficult to understand and there was a lack of displays showing the current position of the train.
Advantages
IconPunctual
Iconnice staff
I travelled with a colleague and the journey was quite comfortable. We arrived at our destination station in Hamburg on time. The staff were very friendly to us. We could have charged our mobile phones via a socket. Wifi was available, but didn't work that well. The toilet was in good condition.
