The journey was pleasant, but a bit stressful. As the train was already late and could not make up for the delay, I did not have the opportunity to make my connecting train. However, the staff advised me and so let the other train wait. I thought that was very good. Otherwise, as I said, everything had been good. (Facilities, cleanliness, service and comfort).

The journey from Husum to Westerland took about 80 minutes (with the IC). You don't have to change trains here. Once again, the train was very clean and looked well maintained. The toilets were also very hygienic. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The information on the train was very good throughout the journey. The very lively and relaxed announcements by the staff were also nice. It would have been possible to reserve a seat, but this was not necessary as there were enough free seats. Power sockets and wifi were available and worked. The noise level on the train was low, which I found very pleasant. Unfortunately, there has been no restaurant on the IC since December 2023. There is a small snack point as an alternative, but this is by no means a substitute.

Sylt Shuttle Plus

About
Sylt Shuttle Plus was a unique passenger train service operated by Deutsche Bahn (DB) that connected Niebüll and Westerland on the island of Sylt, Germany. Unlike the primary Sylt Shuttle, which transports vehicles, the "Plus" service was designed for passengers without cars. It involved coupling a Class 628 diesel multiple unit to the rear of the car shuttle train. Introduced in 2015, the Sylt Shuttle Plus gained notoriety for its often-empty carriages and longer travel times compared to regional trains, leading to its nickname "ghost train." The service was discontinued in December 2024.
