The Girona Valencia train service connects 2 of the major capitals of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. It therefore has a large number of daily services, all of which are operated by Renfe. For this trip there are no direct train options. The obligatory change is made at the Barcelona station of Sants, all to complete a journey that has an average duration of approximately 5 hours. Otherwise, there are services at almost any time of the day, as the frequency of trains is around 1 hour.
Girona Valencia trains can be of 2 types. One of them is the AVE, which is used to make the first part of the journey being this a train with cafeteria, free wifi and plugs in the seats. The second part of the journey is made on a medium-distance Avant train that has the same comforts as the previous one.
On a normal day, Renfe offers more than 10 services to complete the journey between Girona and Valencia. The usual frequency is at least 1 train per hour until 18:00, as this trip can not take place at night.
Girona Station: this train station is less than 1 kilometre from the city centre. The distance can be covered on foot, although close to the station there is also 1 stop on the city's city bus line 2. Inside, the traveller will find toilets, cafeteria, parking and ATMs.
Estación Joaquín Sorolla: it is located at a distance of 3 kilometres from the centre of the city and communicated to it through lines 1 and 2 of the Valencian underground. It has restaurants, cafeteria, tourist information, parking, ATMs or car rental services for the convenience of travelers.
