How to Get to Aachen by Train:

It is possible to travel between London and Aachen in North Rhine-Westphalia taking the Eurostar and Thalys services. Three trains depart London St. Pancras each day at just before 9:00 a.m., just after 2:00 p.m. and around 3:00 p.m. The journey takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours and passengers make a change at Brussels-Midi/Zuid Station.

Aachen sits on the borders of Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and was the center of Charlemagnes' historic empire. Visitors looking for a rejuvenating break can drink the waters at the Fountain of Elise or visit the Carolus Thermen Bad Aachen Spa. The fountain was built in the 19th century and allows visitors to drink the spring water which is reputed to help joint and skin diseases. A dip in the spa's hot springs promises rejuvenation. Once refreshed, visitors can enjoy wandering around the medieval streets of Aachen and enjoying a coffee in the Katschof Square. Aachen Cathedral and the 14th century City Hall are on the square, as are many of the old aristocratic residences. Replicas of Charlemagne's Imperial Crown Jewels can be seen in the City Hall.
