Volotea is a Spanish low-cost airline, founded in 2011 by Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros, who also founded Vueling. Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, Volotea specializes in connecting small and medium-sized European cities with direct flights, often serving routes overlooked by larger carriers. The airline operates a fleet primarily consisting of Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft. Volotea has been recognized as the "Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe" by Skytrax in 2023 and 2024. It focuses on offering competitive prices and a straightforward travel experience.
