The week before last, I took the train from Koblenz main station to Trier for a day trip and was surprised both positively and negatively. On the one hand, I find the price very reasonable, you don't have to change trains and the staff and staff are very friendly. However, there are some shortcomings, such as the comfort in second class or the hygiene of the toilets. On top of that, the train was unfortunately half an hour late.

The Koblenz - Trier line is one of the most beautiful railway lines in Germany. The route goes directly along the Moselle and offers a beautiful view of the Moselle valley and along the vineyards. The train also stops at every little village, which makes the view even better. Accordingly, the journey takes longer, but this is a good compromise. The regional express is a modern train with power sockets at the seats and overall a cosy and appealing interior. The ticket inspectors were very friendly and started a conversation where you felt very comfortable. I can't complain about the price either, it's totally reasonable for the journey. The wifi worked well the entire journey, which was a great advantage due to the many wireless holes in the Mosel valley. All in all, a really great train route with modern trains.
Advantages
IconQuick and easy
IconConvenient reservation
IconStable wifi
Disadvantages
IconAbsolutely none
The train was only minimally delayed, which didn't bother me, there were people with disabilities who were helped by DB staff. The seats on the train were modern, wide and comfortable, the upholstery was fine and they were very comfortable. The sockets worked perfectly, as did the stable wifi. The toilet facilities were very clean, well equipped and spacious. The crowds were limited, so you didn't get in each other's way. I found the staff attentive and always present. A very pleasant train connection.
