Alberobello and Locorotondo, two popular tourist destinations in the Italian region of Puglia, are just a short train ride from each other. That means you can easily combine both towns into a simple day trip. I really enjoyed this quick journey, traveling from Alberobello’s famous Trulli houses to the whitewashed streets of Locorotondo. Below, I’ll show you what this train journey is like.

The train from Alberobello to Locorotondo
Both Alberobello and Locorotondo are located on the Bari-Putignano-Martina Franca railway line. Trains on this line are operated by the regional railway company, Ferrovie del Sud Est.
The distance by rail from Alberobello to Locorotondo is just 8 kilometers (5 miles), with trains taking around 11 minutes to complete the journey.

However, the train was modern, air-conditioned, and the seats were quite comfortable. Seating is all unreserved, so take any available seat you like!
