There are plenty of bus services to Northampton from the UK's major towns and cities provided by National Express. They have daily scheduled trips that go directly to Northampton from many major locations including London Victoria Coach Station which takes just over 2 hours and runs several times per day. Buses terminate in the town centre, from where a variety of local bus and train services are readily available. National Express and Stagecoach also run frequent services between Northampton and its neighbouring towns, including Daventry and Corby.
Located in the East Midlands, Northampton is a large town full of character, history and local culture. The town sits on the banks of the River Nene and offers a great range of attractions, from fascinating museums and galleries to beautiful green parks and a buzzing nightlife. The town's impressive market square, that dates to the early 13th century, is now completely pedestrianised and is used for regular markets, events and activities. By the 1800s, Northampton had emerged as the UK's leading manufacturer of leather and footwear products; this history is depicted at the town's museum which has the world's biggest display of footwear. Althorp House, the ancestral home of the Spencer family, is also well worth a visit.
