In 2010, our founder, Naren Shaam, embarked on an extensive backpacking trip across Europe.
In 2010, our founder, Naren Shaam, embarked on an extensive backpacking trip across Europe.
Shaam knew where he wanted to go, but planning the best route, finding an affordable bus ticket or the right train left him frustrated and a little light in the pocket.
Seeing a need for a multi-mode travel site, Shaam quit his finance job in NYC, packed up his life, and moved to Berlin, with its burgeoning tech and startup scene.
In 2013, GoEuro went live.
Why the change? We believe travel moves and empowers people globally, and wanted our brand to focus on more than Europe.
Becoming Omio allowed us to go beyond booking journeys. It enabled us to become an all-encompassing travel hub, one that supports our customers’ need to explore the world.
In 2020, COVID-19 hit, and the travel industry—and the world—ground to a halt. However, our resilient team spared no effort to help our customers navigate the challenges of the pandemic.
Travel has forever changed but we will continue to innovate and support our customers so they can move freely and explore the familiar and the unexpected on their own terms.
From a small startup of just a few people, our team has grown to 300 employees hailing from more than 50 countries who work at offices in Berlin, Prague, Beijing, London and New York.
