Omio is a travel booking platform that allows customers to search, compare, and book train, bus, flight, and ferry tickets across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
After booking, tickets can be accessed through the Omio website, mobile app or confirmation email, depending on the travel partner and ticket type. For more general questions, visit the Omio FAQ.
Step 1: Search for your journey
To find your journey on Omio, enter your departure and arrival destinations in the search bar. Select your travel date and the number of passengers travelling.
If you have a discount card or rail pass, you can add it at this stage too.
When you're ready, tap Search Omio to view available journeys.
Step 2: Compare your options
On the search results page, you'll see available trains, buses, flights and ferries from different travel partners for your chosen route.
Omio will highlight a recommended option based on factors such as price, duration and convenience. You can also sort and filter results by:
- Cheapest
- Fastest
- Departure time
- Arrival time
- Direct journeys
- Transport type
Once you've found the journey that suits you best, select it to continue.
Top tip: Use the transport icons at the top of the page to quickly switch between trains, buses, flights and ferries.
Step 3: Customise your trip
Depending on the transport company, you may be able to customise your booking before checkout.
This can include:
- Selecting a travel class
- Choosing a seat
- Adding baggage
- Upgrading your journey
- Adding flexible ticket options where available
Review your choices and continue to the next step.
Step 4: Enter passenger details
Provide the required passenger information, including:
- First name and last name
- Date of birth (if required)
- Contact details
- Residence or nationality (if required)
Make sure all details match the identification document you'll be travelling with, as companies may check passenger information during the journey.
Your personal information is processed in accordance with applicable privacy and GDPR regulations.
Step 5: Review and pay
Before completing your booking, review your journey details, passenger information and any extras you've selected.
Here you can choose your preferred payment method, such as:
- Credit or debit card
- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Klarna
- Revolut Pay
- Other locally available payment options
If you have a valid promo code or travel pass, enter it before payment to check for available discounts.
Tap Pay Now to complete your booking.
Step 6: Access your tickets
Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive an Omio confirmation email containing your booking details and ticket information. Depending on the travel partner, tickets may be issued directly by Omio or by the partner.
You can also access tickets in the Omio app under Your Bookings, where you can opt in for live journey updates when they’re available. If you need help with an existing booking, visit the Omio Help Center.
Step 7: Go on your trip
Most tickets booked through Omio are available as mobile tickets, which can be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for easier access during travel.
Otherwise, simply head to Your Bookings in the Omio app, select your journey, then tap Open ticket(s).
