Buses from Munich to Budapest are a great way to make the journey, and travelers can choose between daily services from Infobus, Eurolines, Postbus and Flixbus. All direct buses leave just before 11:00 p.m. and travel overnight to Budapest, with a total journey time of around 9 hours 30 minutes, but there are daytime trips with one or more stops on offer as well.
Deutsche Bahn offers regular trains from Munich to Budapest. All trains depart from Munich Hauptbahnhof and get into Budapest Keleti station, with the first train of the day leaving at 7:15 a.m. and regular departures until 8:00 p.m. The journey takes 7 hours without stops, but even services with 1 or 2 changes can still get you to Budapest in the same amount of time.
Flights from Munich to Budapest are operated by LOT, Lufthansa, Austrian, KLM and Air France, with plenty of direct flights every day. Flights leave as early as 7:00 a.m., with late night departures at 10:00 p.m., and all direct journeys take just over an hour. All flights take off from Munich's Flughafen and touch down at Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport.
