General Information about the journey from Amsterdam to Utrecht

Trains from Amsterdam to Utrecht
Fast intercity trains and local services that take slightly longer operate on routes from Amsterdam to Utrecht with journey times of between fifteen minutes and half an hour. There are daytime departures four times an hour from both Amsterdam Centraal Station and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The frequency of trains reduces to one an hour from late evening to early morning. Amsterdam Centraal is located in the heart of the old city and served by buses, trams, local trains and water taxis. Metro lines and buses depart Amsterdam Centraal for the city suburbs while trams and water taxis provide links in the old town. Fast trains and express buses link Schiphol Airport to central Amsterdam. Amsterdam has several night bus routes. Services from both Amsterdam Centraal and the airport arrive into Utrecht Central Station, the busy hub of the Dutch rail network. Utrecht Station is centrally located and served by local buses and two tram lines. Taxi ranks and car rental desks can be found at all three stations.
