The majority of travelers to Dover Port arrive by car on the M20 from London which merges into the A20 at Folkestone. 

Passengers who arrive on foot are advised to board at least 45 minutes before departure. Passengers who intend to board with a car should arrive at least 1 hour before departure, in case of queues at the port. 

All ferries from Calais to Dover arrive at Calais Ferry Port. Calais Ferry Port is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) away from the town center of Calais. Travelers who plan to continue their journey by train should head to Calais Ville Station in the heart of Calais town center. From here, passengers can continue on to Paris, other major stations across France and mainland Europe. 

Passengers who disembark the ferry by car can join the A26/E15​ for Paris. Those who wish to head to the Benelux countries should join the A16/E40​ for Northern European countries. 

Although there is a small selection of shops near Calais Ferry Port, there is a much greater range in Calais town center. Passengers disembarking at Calais are advised to save their euros until they leave the port.
