Toremar provides ferry services from the Tuscan coast to islands in the Tuscan Archipelago. Passengers can travel to Elba, Capraia, Pianosa and Giglio in the Tyrrhenian sea. Founded in 1976, the company operates eight modern, well-equipped ferries which provide safe, punctual trips throughout the year. Ferries have children's play areas, full air-conditioning, cafeterias for meals and beverages, sun decks and disabled access.
The most popular Toremar route is from Piombino to Portoferraio and back, with 21 daily trips. Also popular, are trips from Piombino to Ria Marina with eight 45-minute trips daily, and nine daily trips from Capraia to Livorno and back. Another popular journey is from Cavo to Piombino. Other busy routes run from Cavo to Portoferraio and from Giglio to Porto Santo Stefano. There are once-weekly sailings from Pianosa to Piombino and Pianosa to Rio Marina.

Toremar offers more than 20 routes from and to Livorno, Piombino, Porto S.Stefano, Capraia, Portoferraio, Cavo, Rio Marina and Giglio Island.
In the event that a ferry is unable to depart due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, the passenger may request a full or partial refund, depending on the delay duration and circumstances, or ask that the ferry trip is rescheduled. Accommodation or alternative transportation may be provided.
Passengers with limited mobility will be accommodated. If buying a ticket online, tick the 'assistance' box in the 'List of Passengers' section. If buying through an agency, individual needs should be relayed to the agent. Guide dogs for the visually impaired are permitted in lounges.
Passengers may carry up to 20kg of personal hand luggage on standard vessels. If travelling on high-speed vessels, passengers may carry 10kg of personal luggage. Children are entitled to half of this luggage allowance.
Pets and other animals must have a valid ticket, rabies vaccination certificate, and a current veterinary certificate before boarding. No wild or protected species are allowed on board without a permit.
