Piracicabana
About
Viação Piracicabana is a Brazilian transportation company founded in 1937 in Piracicaba, São Paulo, by Atílio Raimundo Giannetti. Initially known as Expresso Piracicabano, it began with eight Ford buses operating a daily route between Piracicaba and São Paulo. The company prioritized passenger comfort, even distributing "dust coats" to protect clothing during early, adventurous six-hour journeys over unpaved roads. Renamed Viação Piracicabana S/A in 1962, the company expanded its services to various cities in São Paulo, including the Baixada Santista region and later São Caetano do Sul, Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, and Osasco. Piracicabana also operates urban transport in cities like Santos and Praia Grande, and in the Federal District. It is currently part of the Grupo Comporte.
