National Ferries Company
About
National Ferries Company (NFC) is a government-owned ferry operator in Oman, established in 2008. It offers high-speed ferry services connecting various coastal destinations, including Muscat, Khasab, Lima, Shinas, Dibba, and Masirah. NFC operates some of the world's fastest ferries, such as the Shinas and Hormuz, each capable of reaching speeds over 55 knots. These 65-meter vessels can accommodate up to 208 passengers and 56 vehicles, providing essential links along Oman's 3,000-kilometer coastline. Since its inception, NFC has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Arab Best Company in the Maritime Transport Sector in 2017.

Ferries can accommodate motorcycles and any size car, trailer or recreational vehicle that can operate on the highway.

Special permits are available for vehicles over 65 feet.

Food sold onboard
Snack and drink vending machines are available on many of North Carolina's ferries and at most terminals. Coffee is not provided on sound-class vessels, and meals are not served on any ferry.
Seat reservation
Rockaway Reserve tickets, where riders on the Rockaway route could pay $10 for a reserved seat on a specific Rockaway ferry trip up to two weeks in advance.

Facilities are available for people with disabilities at all terminals, and all ferries on Cedar Island-Ocracoke and Swan Quarter-Ocracoke routes accommodate wheelchairs.

Pets are permitted on ferries, but they must be kept in vehicles or on leashes at all times, and owners must clean up after them.
