About
Iscomar, or Isleña Marítima de Contenedores S.A., was a Spanish ferry company founded in 1979, headquartered in Palma de Mallorca. Initially focusing on freight transport, Iscomar expanded into passenger services in 1998, launching the Alcudia (Mallorca) to Ciutadella (Menorca) route. Over the years, it added connections such as Barcelona-Palma and Denia-Ibiza-Palma. By 2006, Iscomar's fleet included vessels like the Patricia del Mar, Mercedes del Mar, and Nura Nova. However, in September 2016, Iscomar ceased operations after 37 years, citing intense competition on its routes.
