GLD Atlantique was a Franco-Spanish ferry operator that launched in September 2010, offering passenger and freight services between Saint-Nazaire, France, and Gijón, Spain. This route, known as the "motorway of the sea," aimed to alleviate road congestion across the Pyrenees and reduce the environmental impact of vehicle transport. The service was operated by a vessel with a capacity for 800 passengers and modern amenities, including cabins, restaurants, and bars. In 2014, the passenger service was integrated into the LD Lines brand, while freight operations continued under the GLD Atlantique name.
