About
Catalina Express is a California-based ferry service established in 1981, providing year-round transportation between the mainland and Santa Catalina Island. Operating up to 30 daily departures from San Pedro, Long Beach, and Dana Point, the company transports over one million passengers annually. Its fleet comprises eight high-speed vessels, including four catamarans, capable of completing the 22-mile crossing in approximately one hour. Committed to environmental sustainability, Catalina Express is developing a new low-emission, renewable diesel-powered ferry as part of the Port of Los Angeles’ emission reduction initiative.
