Step by Step Station Guide
Main & Secondary Entrances
The Tanah Rata Bus Station has two entrances on Jalan Besar. The primary entrance leads to the main waiting area and bus platforms (buses enter from the rear and exit at the front), while the secondary entrance provides direct access to the shops and the adjacent taxi stand.
Bus Bay Area
All boarding and drop-offs take place at one convenient ground-level bus bay. The station is small and easy to navigate, with all arrivals and departures handled from the same location. The arrivals and departures zones are open and easily accessible.
Ticketing Desk
The ticket counter is directly opposite the bus bay where passengers depart or alight from arriving buses. Here you can buy tickets for your onward journey in the Cameron Highlands or beyond.
Waiting Area
The waiting area can also be found directly in front of the ticket office, adjacent to the arrivals and departures bay. From here, you will be able to hear announcements for buses to your destination.
Ticket Validation
When your bus arrives, simply show your ticket to the staff for validation, either as you board or, if you’ve hopped on early, just before the bus sets off. You can board your bus from the bay just opposite the ticket counter.
Exits and Taxi Stand
Passengers can exit through either the front or rear. Directly outside the station are taxi stands, offering onward transport to your final destination.
Buying Tickets
Online Purchase – it’s easy to buy tickets online using various payment options, including FPX/MEPS, credit/debit cards, Redbus, TnG, ShopeePay, online banking or Grab. Just show your e-ticket at the bus boarding pass counters for a quick check-in.
Travel Agency Ticket Office – buy your ticket in person by visiting one of the travel agency offices located directly in front of the bus station’s boarding area. Payment is cash only. The staff will confirm the fare and issue your printed ticket on the spot.
Validating your Ticket – after buying your ticket, your seat number will be printed, but not the bus number. When your bus arrives, the ticketing staff will announce the bus and direct you to the boarding area immediately in front of the ticket office. There, they will manually validate your ticket before you board.
