Omio expands ground transportation global network with Greyhound Australia partnership
New supply partnership brings Greyhound Australia’s bus network to Omio, improving access to city, coastal and regional bus connections
Omio, the leading global travel booking platform for multimodal transport, today announced a new supply partnership with Greyhound Australia, one of the country’s most established long-distance bus operators.
Through the partnership, travellers can now search and book Greyhound Australia services directly through Omio, gaining access to a bus network spanning 180 destinations nationwide. The integration strengthens Omio’s bus offering and makes it easier for domestic and international travellers to plan journeys across Australia’s major cities, coastal routes and regional destinations.
Expanding bus access across Australia
Australia’s scale is central to its appeal, but it can also make trip planning complex, particularly for visitors moving between cities, coastlines and regional destinations. By bringing Greyhound Australia’s complete destination network onto Omio, travellers gain a simpler way to search and book point-to-point bus journeys through a familiar global platform.
The partnership strengthens access to major city, coastal, and regional routes, including Melbourne-Sydney, Sydney-Canberra, and Gold Coast–Brisbane, where Omio search signals indicate strong interest. It also supports popular coastal connections such as Brisbane-Byron Bay, Noosa-Brisbane, Cairns-Airlie Beach and Townsville-Airlie Beach.
For international travellers, the integration provides a more accessible entry point into Australian bus travel, supported by localised language, currency and payment options.
Building Omio’s global multimodal transport network
The partnership marks Australia as Omio’s 48th country, reflecting the company’s continued expansion into strategically important travel markets. With more than 3,000 transport partners globally and over 130,000 travellers moving with Omio every day, the integration of Greyhound Australia strengthens Omio’s growing multimodal transport network and supports its ambition to operate in more than 70 countries by 2028. The announcement follows Omio Group’s recently announced proposed acquisition of Rail Europe, which, upon completion, would further strengthen the Group’s position in ground transport distribution and support its ambition to build a leading global platform for connected travel.
Facundo Viguie Aleman, CMO at Omio, said:
“Australia is a market where travellers often want to go beyond the first city they arrive in, but understanding how to move between destinations can be a challenge, especially for international visitors. By bringing Greyhound Australia’s bus network onto Omio, we are making it easier to plan journeys across cities, coastlines and regional destinations through one familiar and intuitive global platform. This partnership strengthens our global ground transport offering and marks another important step in expanding Omio’s reach across strategically important travel markets.”
Renata Berglas, Head of Sales at Greyhound Australia, said:
“Greyhound Australia has a long history of connecting people with destinations across the country, from major cities to coastal and regional communities. Partnering with Omio allows us to bring our network to a broader global audience and support travellers who want to explore more of Australia in a flexible and accessible way. Together, we can make bus travel easier to discover and book for both domestic and international visitors.”
