Powering journeys that move you
Powering journeys that move you
Omio was founded due to a personal frustration we encountered: why was it that we could book a taxi on an app within 2 minutes or order a book with the click of a button for same day delivery, but finding timetables and booking tickets for ground transportation globally was impossibly complicated.
No central place existed where you could search for, compare and book trains, buses, ferries, airport transfers and shuttles. Omio was founded to change this status quo.
What does that mean? Omio aims to bring the entire world of transport into one app, because we believe that wherever you are in the world, you should be able to book any mode of transport as simply as booking that taxi. Omio exists to do the heavy lifting because we want you to focus on what really matters – creating memorable moments that enrich you.
Search, compare and book trains, buses, flights, ferries and airport transfers.
Arrange and manage your travel on mobile or via our app (or on desktop!); we put our users’ needs first.
Start and end your journey at thousands of locations throughout Europe, the United States and Canada.
Naren Shaam travelled across Europe, and found it very difficult to book a journey between Paris and Amsterdam on his phone. This made him wonder why it was so complex to book travel on mobile when ordering a taxi was so easy.
Naren quit his job and moved to Berlin to found Omio (then GoEuro) a meta-search platform, offering different modes of transport in several European countries.
The Omio App goes live.
Omio evolved to be a full ticketing platform where customers could buy tickets directly on the Omio platform.

GoEuro rebranded as Omio to reflect the company's global ambitions and expansion plans. Additionally, it acquired Rome2rio, an Australian-based global travel planner.

Omio launched its B2B business, licensing its inventory to leading global travel companies and some of the industry's biggest players, such as LNER and SJ.
The Omio Group consists of Omio Travel, Rome2Rio, and Busradar. Three products, three continents, one vision: to create simple, intuitive multi-modal transport products that power people to go on journeys that move them.
