Powering journeys that move you
Powering journeys that move you
When Naren Shaam travelled in Europe in 2010, he felt a personal sense of frustration: why was it possible to book a taxi on an app within two minutes or order a book for same day delivery with the touch of a button, but finding timetables and booking tickets for ground transportation globally was impossibly complicated?
Omio was founded to solve this very problem: Omio brings together data on trains, planes, buses, and ferries, to make travel easier, more affordable and sustainable. By empowering travellers to make decisions about how to get from a to b, the Omio Group connects the world.
Companies in the Omio Group all share one goal: to make discovering, planning and booking travel incredibly easy, no matter the destination or mode of transport. That’s why the consumer products Omio and Rome2Rio allow travellers to compare prices and routes and book tickets with a few clicks on the web or in an app. As a whitelabel solution, Omio’s B2B product powers beloved travel sites like Uber, Google and Kayak.
With more than 41 million tickets sold worldwide, Omio is the leading platform for door-to-door travel. The Omio companies are connecting more than 1000 transport providers in 37 countries so that millions of travelers find the trip they are looking for, all with the touch of a button.
Search, compare and book trains, buses, flights, ferries and airport transfers.
Arrange and manage your travel on mobile or via our app (or on desktop!); we put our users’ needs first.
Start and end your journey at thousands of locations throughout Europe, the United States and Canada.
Naren Shaam travelles across Europe, and finds it very difficult to book a journey between Paris and Amsterdam on his phone. This makes him wonder why it is so complex to book travel on mobile when ordering a taxi is so easy.
Naren quits his job and moves to Berlin to found Omio (then GoEuro), a meta-search platform offering different modes of transport in several European countries.
The Omio App goes live.
