We\u2019re sure you\u2019ve probably seen them all. Still, there are smaller galleries and museums around the world that offer free access to their exhibitions. Founded in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omio.com\/travel\/athens?utm_source=omio-magazine&amp;utm_medium=magazine&amp;utm_campaign=January&amp;utm_content=Museums&amp;utm_term=COM_TravelAthens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Athens<\/a> in 1930 by<strong> <\/strong>Antonis Benakis, a prominent member of the Greek diaspora, the museum\u2019s aim was to inspire intercultural dialogue while celebrating Greek history and innovation. Although the museum is closed to physical visitors, a virtual tour allows guests to browse more than 40,000 items in its Greek and Islamic collection. Visitors get a 360-degree view of the works with audio clips in several languages.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While traveling to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omio.com\/travel\/the-hague?utm_source=omio-magazine&amp;utm_medium=magazine&amp;utm_campaign=January&amp;utm_content=Museums&amp;utm_term=COM_TravelTheHague\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Hague<\/a>, The Netherlands, is out thanks to COVID protocols, the next best thing is exploring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mauritshuis.nl\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mauritshuis<\/a>\u2014a cozy museum that was established in the 18th century by Prince William V\u2014online. While many visitors to Holland head for anything with the name Van Gogh attached, the Mauritshuis is home to Dutch Baroque works of which Vermeer\u2019s \u201cThe Girl with the Pearl Earring\u201d is the most famous.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Discover more than 200 Dutch and Flemish paintings via their free app, or click on the section \u201cMauritshuis at home\u201d on the museum\u2019s website to enjoy a guided tour of the facility by curator Geert-Jan Borgstein. While we are always California dreaming, we can still escape to the City of Angels via the Internet. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebroad.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Broad<\/a> was founded in 2015 by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad and contains more than 2,000 works of contemporary art, many of which are on loan from other galleries and museums. Check out the museum\u2019s site, specifically the section #thebroadfromhome, for talks by curators Ed Schad and Sarah Loyer and videos showcasing the exhibition \u201cLA Intersections: Music, Language and Movement\u201d and Clarissa Tossin\u2019s \u201cLight and Space,\u201d which celebrates The Broad\u2019s fifth anniversary. Designed by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers in 1977, this massive glass and metal structure covered in colorful tubes is a mecca for contemporary art. Head to the center\u2019s website to listen to select podcasts about their collection of which Man Ray\u2019s \u201cHomard\u201d and Charles Lapicque\u2019s \u201cMarine nationale\u201d number. Online docents lead discussions on some of the museum\u2019s most iconic pieces through the lens of consumerism, utopia and feminism. The downtown gallery space honors her devotion to Modernism and the American West through paintings, letters and photographs. Click on \u201cO\u2019Keeffe from Anywhere\u201d for personal stories as well as a video tour of her home and the museum\u2019s permanent collection. Our favorite feature?
