On my train journey from Munich to Budapest, the first stop was from Munich to Vienna. I was very satisfied with the staff and the wifi also provided good comfort this time. What I didn't like was that the rubbish bins overflowed. The toilets were also not completely clean. Unfortunately, you always have to expect delays in Germany.
Pros
Iconfast without changing
Cons
Iconno wifi
The train arrived, as you know it from the railway, with some delay. As I have often experienced, the train's own wifi did not work. But at least the sockets, which were built into the seats, worked. The train was initially quite clean, but became increasingly dirty during the journey. The same was true of the toilets. The staff were a bit brusque, but friendly and helpful. I find the price-performance ratio reasonable. I would book such a ticket again at any time.
Pros

IconClear overview
IconPrivate toilets
Cons
IconDelays
IconUnpleasant with passengers
IconOdours from substances
I had to go to Vienna for a seminar and bought my ticket online. This is the cheapest and best alternative for me. The journey there was relatively relaxed, except for small delays on the train and some unpleasant smells. But these subsided in the course of the journey. In general, I'm always happy to travel by train, as it's fast and confident.
Pros
IconFavourable price
IconFast connection
IconFew stops
Cons
IconSometimes late
IconEntry with heavy luggage strenuous
There is no power socket in the RJ in 2nd class, but I knew that. The carriage and the toilet were clean and there was enough space for the luggage. Pleasant fellow passengers, normal volume. The staff was friendly as always. The train was very punctual and the change in Vienna Meidling was therefore problem-free. I have recommended the RJ to friends several times for a trip to Vienna and wanted to do the same here. The only negative point is the difference in height between the platform and the carriage. This makes it difficult to get on with heavy luggage.
Pros
IconComfortable seats
IconSockets
Cons
IconDirty and smelly toilets
IconArrived 1 hour late
My train journey from Munich to Vienna was moderately pleasant. As I was travelling for work, it was pleasing that the seats were comfortable and you could rest. There were also power sockets at my seat, which was convenient. However, the toilets were very dirty and smelled unpleasant. Another negative point is that we arrived an hour late in Vienna due to track disruptions. Overall, the train journey was average, with some shortcomings that marred the overall experience.
Pros
IconCleanliness
IconNo change
IconFriendly staff
Cons
IconPrice-performance ratio
Facilities: Wifi is available + power socket per double place. Service: Reservations are possible and I would recommend them. The conductors are friendly Cleanliness: My seat was clean, the same goes for the toilet. Journey: There was no need to change trains and the train arrived on time at its destination in Vienna. Price-performance ratio: Unfortunately, a train journey is usually more expensive than a flight.

Cons
IconVery full train
IconCatering
My train journey from Munich to Vienna was overall pleasant and smooth. There were several positive aspects that I would like to highlight. First of all, the train was on time and the departure was smooth. The comfort on the train was also satisfactory, with enough space to sit and relax. The interior of the train was modern and clean, and there were power sockets to power my electronic devices. The service on board was friendly and helpful, and the train staff provided a pleasant atmosphere during the journey. The scenery along the route was also impressive and offered beautiful views. However, there were also some negative aspects that I would like to mention. For one thing, the train was quite crowded at times, which led to some discomfort. In addition, the catering on the train was limited and the selection of food and drinks was not particularly varied. The toilets were also not always in perfect condition and could be cleaned better.
Pros
IconComfortable journey
IconGood train equipment
IconPossibility to consume something on board
Cons
IconNone
On board the train, there was plenty of space to both sit and stand. There was also plenty of space for luggage. Both first and second class had comfortable seats even after sitting for a long time you felt fresh. Some of the rows even have a fold-out table. The wifi on board worked great. There were also plenty of power sockets. The toilets were clean and very spacious. The staff at the counter and on the train were friendly and very helpful. Reservations are not necessary - there are plenty of seats. I didn't have to change trains - the suit went directly from Vienna to Munich.
Pros
IconFast and without changing
IconFavourable if booked in good time
Cons
IconFrequent delays on the route
I often travel this route from Munich to Vienna by train. The trains are usually operated by ÖBB and are modern. The seats are comfortable, the wifi is better than with DB and you can travel the route several times a day without changing trains. WCs are usually cleaner than on the German railway. It takes four to four and a half hours to travel from Munich to Vienna, but the plane with its one-hour flight time and the whole journey is not really faster.
Pros
IconVery favourable
IconFast and uncomplicated
Cons
IconEverything went well
The train connection was mostly correct, which is very important. However, there was a slight delay of about 10 minutes on the return journey. The cleanliness of the train was very good. The windows, seats and floor were very well maintained and I couldn't find any dirt. The availability of electricity is crucial for many travellers, fortunately there were enough sockets in my compartment. The train service was very accessible, which is important for travellers with reduced mobility. The platforms were easily accessible and there was plenty of space on the train itself for wheelchairs and other aids. The toilets were clean and well maintained. However, a little more intensive cleaning would be desirable during the longer journeys. Overall, my journey was very pleasant, but there are some aspects that could be optimised.
Pros
IconReach Austria quickly
IconComfort
IconDB counter on the train always manned as the journey is international
Cons
IconDelay
IconFood is often missing
IconOften no air conditioning
The train journey in winter was fraught with problems, but in summer it was fine. Apart from the non-functioning air conditioning system, which can often happen when the train is overcrowded. The air conditioning worked after about half of the journey. The service was satisfactory, the staff were always friendly.
Pros
IconPrice
IconPersonnel
IconPunctuality
IconWifi connection
Cons
IconSeats
IconNeed to change
IconHygiene
The train journey from Munich to Vienna was satisfactory overall. The price was felt to be fair, the staff were friendly and the train reached its destination on time. The wifi connection proved to be reliable, which facilitated communication during the journey. However, some inconveniences spoilt the overall experience. The seats had flaws, including coffee stains and unclean toilets, which affected hygiene. In addition, several changes made the journey more complex. Nevertheless, the noise level on the train was reasonable. Overall, the journey offers room for improvement in terms of the cleanliness and comfort of the seats and the optimisation of transfers. But overall a good journey!
Pros
IconBeautiful view
Cons
IconPricewise okay
I travelled on the RJX63 and arrived at my destination comparatively quickly. I was able to continue my work via the train's wifi and I had nice conversations with the train staff. Apparently I had caught a good day, because even the on-board bistro was open. I had a nice seat where I had a little chat with my seat neighbour and everything else was to my satisfaction.
Pros
IconGood price
Cons
IconTrip duration
I travelled on the so-called RJX63 train to Vienna Meidling station. The train was still new to me, but it was a great experience. The service was very nice to me and I was able to do my office work with the train's wifi and was completely satisfied. Unfortunately, the journey time of 4 hours was a little too long for me, but as far as I know, it was also a relatively average time.
Pros
IconFast travel
Cons
IconVolume
Positives: The journey from Munich to Vienna was very comfortable. The seats were large and there was enough space for luggage. The train was fast and reached the destination without any delays. The train staff were also helpful. The train was very clean and the toilets were clean. The seats had power sockets. During the journey, a live music performance was organised in the train compartment. A passenger took out his guitar and played well-known songs. This created a very pleasant atmosphere. Negatives: The train was quite crowded and some people even had to stand. There was a wifi connection, but it was very poor. The price of the ticket was reasonable.
Pros
IconMediocre capacity utilisation
IconNice staff
Cons
IconThere was no wifi
Timetable: Fortunately, the journey went without changing trains. Journey time: The journey took around 4 hours. Train number: RJX 65 Comfort was very good. The seats were all well upholstered. There was no wifi, at least none was indicated to me. I didn't notice the service, but the staff helped me very nicely when I didn't understand something. Everything was amazingly clean and the toilets were also super hygienic.
Pros
IconFunctional wifi
IconClean train
Cons
IconDelay
Timetable no changes with 4 stops. Journey time - 4 hours with a 20 minute delay. Train number: RJX 69 Comfort- the seats were great, very soft and clean. The staff were very nice and the ticket inspectors always had a smile on their faces. WCs hygienic and everything clean.
Pros
IconVery polite staff
IconEverything clean
Cons
IconOne WC defective
The journey went well, I didn't have to change trains and thanks to my reservation I had a great seat to enjoy the beautiful scenery for 4 hours. The train number was RJX 65 and I had wifi and a power socket available. Everything was clean, unlike suburban trains. When I realised the toilet was locked, the friendly staff had guided me to the next one.
Pros
IconThe cleanliness of the toilets
IconThe comfort
Cons
IconThe wifi
When I bought the train ticket, I was in a hurry. But everything went well, as the train was 7 minutes late. I got on and went to my seat, it was very comfortable, my mobile phone only had 20% power left. So I had to plug it in, but luckily there was a socket at my seat, so there were no problems. There was no catering as I didn't want any and the noise level was reasonable. The hygiene of the toilets was very, very good on this train, but the wifi was, as always, not good. I was actually able to do my work on the train on this journey. The journey was not long, about 1 hour. The price was also good.
