There are plenty of frequent train services to Bordeaux for those traveling from the UK, with 10 to 15 Eurostar trains departing each day from London's St Pancras. Passengers will need to make a change at Paris Gare du Nord, taking the Metro Line 4 to Gare Montparnasse. From here, the TVG Duplex Service takes just under 3.5 hours to reach Bordeaux. Alternatively, travelers may prefer to change at Lille to a TGV train to Geneva.
Bordeaux is situated in the heart of France's most famous wine region, and you'd be remiss if you did not visit one of the many vineyards in the area and sample the local produce. Famously a trading town, there are also lots of markets and vintage shops in Bordeaux, selling the finest French fashion and designs. For a day out, head to the Pedestrian Centre and go for a scenic stroll along the Sainte Catherine street.
