The train is very comfortable and clean. The seat reservation is included in the price. The train also has a bar in the middle with different options for food and beverages. I am very satisfied with this service and I will keep using it.

The train journey was with iryo from Barcelona-Sants to Madrid Puerta de Atocha on train 06210.
We booked seat 4A on train number 4. The journey took about 2h45min and was very comfortable, with wide seats and a large table. The catering offer was completely sufficient, soft drinks and small meals were available on board. Everything was clean, including the toilets, top! Unlike in Germany, the train was super punctual and well organised! Price/performance gut👍🏼

Comfortable
The journey was very comfortable and we arrived at our destination station in Madrid on time. The journey took 2.5 hours and was very relaxed. The train was in very good condition and it was quiet on the train. I was able to work on the good seats and there were power sockets. I didn't change trains and the train was very clean. The toilet was very clean, a little bit smelly but okay. The staff were super friendly to me.
Pros
Punctual
Cons
Not clean
No insight of the staff
I was happy because the train was almost on time. However, the cleaners didn't do a good job. It was very dirty and not hygienic. The staff were not understanding and ignored every attempt to start a conversation. I can only give 3 stars here.
Pros
Not complicated
Cons
Loo blocked
Delay
On 10.05.2021 I travelled directly from Barcelona to Madrid on IRY 6131 without changing trains. The journey went smoothly without any complications thanks to the good service. The journey took 3 hours as there was a delay. The facilities were also lacking, there was neither wifi nor power sockets. But it was worth it, as everything was clean and tidy for a low price. However, the toilets were locked, which wasn't a problem as there was an open toilet one carriage further on.
Pros
Good wifi
Cons
Loud guests
The train from Barcelona and Madrid departed on time at 13:25. The train had the number 3130 and the journey was possible without changing trains. The journey took around 3 hours, which passed quite quickly as the internet was good enough to get any work done on the laptop without any problems.
Pros
Good seats
Cons
Poor air conditioning
Unfortunately, the train with the number 6130 was a little late. The train from Barcelona to Madrid is doable without changing trains, which makes travelling by train very pleasant. The toilets were clean and hygienic, the service provided was great both as the food and the staff who helped me with my questions. In terms of value for money, I can absolutely recommend the ticket because I only had positive experiences.
Pros
Good wifi
Cons
Stuffy air
The journey from Barcelona to Madrid on 10 June had train number 3122 departing at 12 noon. The general comfort on the train was very good, as were the seats and the wifi, which was also good. The service of the staff was really extremely good as well as the food that you can buy on the train.
The journey time was around 3 hours, which passed quite quickly as the train was not delayed, which was very pleasing.
Pros
Nice service
Cons
Hygiene was poor
As on the journey to Barcelona, I also travelled on the AVLO 06301 on the return journey. The view was beautiful again and the service was great. The journey was again very quick at 1.5 hours, but with a slight delay. Unfortunately, the hygiene on the train was even worse this time than on the outward journey, but I can't say whether this was due to the train or the location.

Taking the train is undoubtedly the best option to get from Barcelona to Madrid! Tickets are very affordable and the trip goes by so fast. Stations at both cities are in a convenient location, easily reachable by public transportation. Getting to the tracks in Sants-Estació is super quick and easy despite the station being very busy, which I really appreciated as I was short on time. Once on the train, departure was on time. Seats are comfortable, there is WiFi available and they even offer a bar service! I also really appreciated the fact that they offer silent carriages, which are convenient if you need to work on the way or just want to read peacefully without background noise.
