Founded in 1992, it began operations in 1994, initially flying between Dublin and London City Airport under a franchise agreement with Virgin Atlantic. CityJet transitioned its business model in 2018, ceasing its own-brand scheduled services to focus on wet leasing aircraft to other European airlines. This means CityJet provides aircraft and crew to operate flights on behalf of other carriers. As of 2023, CityJet operates a fleet of Bombardier CRJ900 and CRJ1000 aircraft, primarily for airlines like Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Lufthansa, and Brussels Airlines. In 2023, CityJet merged with Air Nostrum, forming the Strategic Alliance of Regional Airlines (SARA).

Braathens Regional Aviation was a Swedish airline that operated wet-leasing services for its sister airline, Braathens Regional Airlines, from 2016 until it ceased operations in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Founded in 1981 as Malmö Aviation, it initially operated domestic routes from Stockholm Bromma Airport. The broader \Braathens\" entity, with a legacy dating back to 1946, has evolved into a partner for flexible wet lease and charter solutions. They offer ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services, ad hoc flights, and long-term charter operations. As of January 2025, Braathens operates flights on behalf of Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) under a long-term agreement."
