Each day, Brussels Airlines operate two direct flights to Brussels, where passengers can then organize rail travel on to Bruges. These are both morning departures. While indirect routes are available from other airlines, such as Iberia and KLM, the shortest indirect route takes over three hours. Departure airport: Flights depart from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, the busiest French airport. Local bus routes 350 and 351 serve the airport. Rail services connect the airport with Gare du Nord rail station in 35 minutes. Within the airport, passengers can make use of the wide choice of cafe, bars, and restaurants. They will also find numerous shops, including duty-free shops with VAT refunds available for those leaving the EU.
Arrival airport: All flights to Bruges will terminate at Brussels Airport, where passengers can organize onward rail travel to Bruges. Trains depart from Brussels-Airport-Zaventem, the lower-ground platform within the airport, with several departures an hour terminating at Bruges. Passengers should allow one hour for the train journey. Bruges train station is a short 12-minute walk from Minnewater Lake. Rail travel into Bruges is preferable as car and bus traffic is limited to preserve the historic city.
