Founded in Germany, FlixBus has expanded its services throughout Europe and even to the United States, giving travelers in both continents the option to take a long-distance bus at an affordable price. FlixBus also operates overnight buses on select routes throughout Europe. FlixBus offers only the Standard ticket for all its routes, which allows you to bring one carry-on bag and one checked bag per person. Additional fees apply for bringing extra luggage and making specific seat reservations, such as if you want to book an Extra Seat, Table Seat or the Panorama Seat. Standard amenities onboard include free Wi-Fi, power outlets to charge your phone, tablet or laptop during long bus journeys, extra legroom, luggage space and toilets.
Bus information from Bari to Rome with FlixBus:
There are buses from Bari to Rome most days of the week, but the schedule varies depending on which day you are searching for. If you search very far in advance, you may not see many bus ride options at all, but if you are searching within 45 days, there should be more buses scheduled and available for booking. On average there are about four route options per day, with more leaving earlier in the morning and a few later in the evening for an overnight journey.
Driving from Bari to Rome will cover over 270 miles (435 km) and take about 7h. One company specified a direct route drive time in under 6h, but most options are closer to 7h. The early departures will allow you to arrive in Rome with time left to check into your hotel or see a few sights the same day.
The total number of buses running from Bari to Rome in one week is around 25, but the number of daily routes depends on the day of the week. On Saturday or Sunday there may be up to seven buses departing at various times, with about four to five leaving in the morning and one or two on an overnight schedule. The overnight routes get you to Rome a little faster, but not at a significant cost savings. You’re still looking at about half the price of a flight, so searching for Bari bus ticket deals will still be worth it. Weekdays may have as little as one bus route scheduled, but the weekdays we checked for (under 45 days out) have at least four departures from Monday to Friday. The earliest bus we found leaves just before 7:00 a.m., allowing you to arrive in Rome in the early afternoon, depending on traffic and which operator you booked. We consistently found two later evening trains leaving after 10:00 p.m. and after 1:00 a.m. Just remember that some buses will not yet be scheduled online if you are too many days ahead of your journey.
Departure bus station: Buses from Bari to Rome will pick up in Bari on Via Giuseppe Capruzzi, which is a main street located parallel to the Bari Centrale train station. Be careful when you are looking for G. Capruzzi as the buses are on the opposite side of where passengers enter the train station. If you enter the train station, you can walk under the tracks to take you to where the buses pick up on the other side. There are a few shops at the station for travelers looking for fast food, coffee, tobacco or limited groceries. The station is located less than a mile from the sea in the center of the city, so you should have no problem getting there from your hotel. There is a train to the small Bari Aeroporto, about a 30 minute ride, and many city bus routes servicing areas farther out from Bari city center.
Arrival bus station: The Rome Tiburtina Bus and Train Station, sometimes referred to as the "BusHub," is located to the East of central Rome. The bus area is located just to the south of the main train station, where you may connect with both long distance trains and the Rome Metro. Be sure to look for the big "M" signs as the metro station is located underneath the train station. The bus station area only has a restroom, so if you're in need of some food or shopping, walk over to the main train station where you will find many options for restaurants and shops.

FlixBus runs bus routes all over Europe, initially focused on long haul trips between major European cities. MarinoBus Lines primarily serve routes within Italy, but have expanded their coverage to major cities all over Europe.

Most FlixBus coaches are equipped with all the modern amenities including free Wi-Fi, toilets, snacks and power outlets. Depending on the itinerary, you may be able to book a special seat right on the Omio app, for panoramic views, extra legroom or a table.
