Yesterday I was lucky enough to have 5 minutes to play on the X1 at the smartphone show. The first thing that I noticed when I took the phone out of the box was the "feel" felt great. The brushed metal casing, detailed lines, even every bump, nook, and cranny on the Xperia feels superb and looks well thought-out.The Xperia keypad has been getting a lot of gripe about being too flat, making the keys hard to press. I’m going to start this review by confessing that I only used the Xperia for about 15 minutes… and 10 of them were playing Bejewelled. It’s not a bad phone – it feels well made, it has a good quality screen… it makes calls and there’s a calculator. That’s 99% of the functionality covered right there. I got my Xperia on 1st November this year. It is my first Windows Mobile device, but my third Sony Ericsson.Although the handset looks and feels good, there are build quality issues:The back drops off at the slightest knock, as it's only held on by two little tiny metal blips on the inside, that go 'flump' instead of 'click' when you push the back on...The plastic cover over the lens already has three cracks in it.
