Samsung Tocco Pink Review
- Pink!
- Slicker Drag 'n' Drop widget interface
- Call quality not great.
- 3G connection a bit patchy.
With the Samsung Tocco's unique mix of fashion and function, it is no surprise that it is currently riding high in the sales charts and fending off a touchscreen challenge from their own fancy Omnia. However, the Korean manufacturer has managed to make this glossy mobile even more appealing with a new pink variant!
Whilst certainly being very pink, it manages to do this in a very subtle and appealing way, with a two tone colour scheme that make this new colourway more gorgeous than garish. Let me mention at this juncture, taking out the Tocco Pink in a public area may provoke a reaction in women similar to producing a newborn puppy from your pocket, yet this does not make you less of a man.

Despite the diminuitive size of the Tocco Pink, it still manages to
squeeze a 2.8" haptic touchscreen screen and a 5 megapixel camera into
the sleek frame. The 232 MB memory allows for plenty of space to store
music and pictures, however an memory card in the old microSD slot will
allow space for movies to play.
One marked difference in this handset was a number of extra features that were not in the original Tocco review phone. It may be due to network specific changes but this unlocked one had an RSS reader, a much nicer browser, as well as a much smoother 'Drag 'n' Drop' widget experience. There was none of the lag in the menus that was previously experienced, and the shortcut menu (accessed by pressing the middle of three buttons at the base of the phone) was super quick to the functions you need.

One big issue was that despite the splash screen proclaiming "Welcome
to 3G," we found that the reception was a little lacking with only one
or two bars at regular intervals, and a distinctly 2G signal a lot of
the time. Call quality was okay, but the signal issues led to the odd
dropped call...
Whilst a nice phone on initial inspection, it was only in this new
outfit that we realised just how appealing the Tocco could actually be
to the ladies.
It is tiny, it is relatively simple and intuitive to use, and the phone definitely gets major style points as far as looks are concerned. So if you're looking for the ideal cross between style and practicality, the Samsung Tocco Pink is an enticing option!
