Q & A > Help with the samsung tocco

I recently bought the Samsung Tocco, and was messing around with all the features today, when I noticed the music recognition application. I thought great! No more stupid texts from Shazam (that annoying ''2580'' company that charge rediculous amounts of money just to send you a text) when I want to find out which song I just heard the last minute or so of. But low and behold, it doesn't work. When I open the application it says ''registering application - please wait'' then cancels itself with a dialogue box telling me that the registration failed.

Does anyone know how to register this so that I can stop ringing Shazam!? Any help would be much appreciated. creame_cakex

*edit* Just noticed another thing. After spending almost hours bluetooth-ing across some video's from my previous phone (Samsung Armarni) becuase I thought it would be less hassle than sending them to the computer, and then back to my new phone. I've just tried to play them, and the Tocco doesn't support the mp4 format of them. My other half mentioned something about downloading a codec, but i've googled long and hard, with no success. Again, any help would be very much appreciated. I'm kinda getting desperate now! creame_cake x

Yes, the track recognition stuff is awesome! Used it at the end of the Sex and the City movie, and it impressively told me the song and album, even though there was dialogue going on over the top!

Anyway, that doesn't help you... This software work on the Tocco's web connection instead of text messages, so you need to set that up first with your network before you can use things like the browser and track ID stuff.

Go to this site to find out and set up your WAP/Internet settings, and hopefully it'll work!

However, it will cost you a little on your data charges to use the music recognition service, but it's a lot less than a text!

Sorry, didn't notice your video question!

The Tocco plays MP4 as well as 3GP format vids, but you have to make sure that the resolution is 340 x 240...if not, then they will not play back unfortunately. I don't think the Tocco is as happy as the more robust Omnia in getting software add-ons.

You could always use the Samsung PC Studio software to re-encode the videos into a more Tocco friendly format!

Hope that helps!

Thats where I'm going wrong then :) Just checked the resolution in the details of the file, and it's (now quite obviously) set up for my old phone. Thank you for saving my new toy from a life spent in the 'Spare phone drawer' in the kitchen :D Much appreciated!
