Hi folks, just signed up to the forums. I Wanted to start a little topic on the new SE phone. After watching the videos on the HTC touch pro Im deffo gonna enjoy tryin out both these phones. Does anyone happen to know the release date for the x1? Ive phoned a few places and they seem to have no idea the phone even exists lol. Later

Thanks for starting this thread. Nobody knows for sure but if you look at the Xperia screen the top panels say September 24th, 2008. I'm betting on that date. The 3" touch screen with 800x480, the slide keyboard the finest construction and looks and the top specs makes of the Xperia X1 a top notch phone, over the Touch Pro, worth the wait.

Which picture did you see this date on? Where's the panels? We're looking forward to this phone as much as you!

It looks lovely. I think Uk networks might get problems trying to customise this as SE are not going to want to lose any of their beautiful panels. What will we have? 3 Orange "Pure" (virgin) fish with o2 bubbles wearing red Voda tshirts?

Global release date means nothing when certain networks are slow to stick it on store catalogues.

Came back from the Experia thing yesterday, it was a very enlightening experience! 

Release date in UK, Sweden and Germany is 30th September, with the US announcement on 3rd November and a projected Q1 2009 release.

They were reluctant to mention a price and memory card sizes, which was a minor concern considering the release is in a couple of weeks!
