Redlaser iPhone App review
This application turns your iPhone into a barcode reader like the ones at the shop checkout. Scan the barcode of almost any product using the iPhone’s internal camera- books to blankets, DVDs to digital cameras – and RedLaser pings the details off and searches Google Products and Amazon for the best price, reviews and more!
The scanned items are then placed into a list, which can be sent off to an e-mail address or to yourself to check out when back at home.
Take RedLaser to the high street and scan a DVD player for cheaper prices online, scan the barcode of the new Dan Brown book to check if it’s any good (it isn’t), and even make a shopping list by scanning items in your house before you leave!
Redlaser is an app which quickly justifies its use the more you use it, despite the odd crazy result from some older barcodes. It is also largely spot on about better prices, which is more than can be said for much of the competition.
Oh, and makes the checkout ‘beep’. Which is nice.
